In 1995, the Justice and Peace Commission, Catholic Diocese of Torit (JPC-CDoT) was formed to promote justice and peace action in the light of Catholic Social Teachings as an integral part of the evangelizing mission of the Church in the Catholic Diocese of Torit.

JPC-CDoT is a registered Faith-Based Organization with the Relief & Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) under Chapter 3, Section 10 of the South Sudan NGOs Act 2016.
